  Contribution Spotlight

The Sigma Lambda Beta Educational Foundation would like to honor our contributors by spotlighting them. We hope to help others learn about the kind of people who contribute to the Foundation and why they contribute. Our first spotlight contributor is:

Brother Boe Ramirez

Brother Boe Ramirez lives in New Jersey. Brother Boe is currently the Director of Operations for TigerCENTER. TigerCENTER offers domestic alternatives to Desktop processing for major investment banks and law firms in the US and abroad. Brother Boe runs the entire New Jersey office.

Brother Boe was one of 7 founding members of the Pi Chapter at Stony Brook University (April 4, 1992). When we asked him about the benefits he derived out of being a member of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc., Brother Boe stated:

“The friendships that I cultivated with my Chapter Brothers have grown immensely. I truly have a core group of friends that I would have never interacted if it were not for the Fraternity. These young professionals have similar career goals as myself. It is a great feeling to send emails and try to figure out where we are going to have our Super Bowl party. Determining if our significant others, or children will be attending the gathering. I have been blessed by having this opportunity to call these gentlemen my Brothers.”

As a monthly contributor to the Educational Foundation, Brother Boe continues to show his love for the Fraternity. Brother Boe was approached by Brother Ric Zamudio, BOT Chairman, in New York City and discussed the possibility of making contributions to the Foundation. At first, Brother Boe alleges that he was not intrigued by the idea. What he found admirable was Ric’s persistence shortly thereafter. The fact that Ric submitted follow up emails to Brother Boe, made him acknowledge the importance of the Foundation and the importance of giving back as well. After several emails, Boe finally went to www.slbfoundation.com and signed up to make monthly contributions. Fourteen months have passed by, and Brother Boe has not missed a payment. Brother Boe has enjoyed helping out in monetary fashion. Brother Boe’s philosophy is simple: “I like to contribute, at least a little bit, to a cause that has helped me advance as a person, a professional, and a loyal friend. I owe that to the Fraternity and for that I will forever be grateful. The least that I can do is give a little bit back.”

Thanks to outstanding brothers like Boe Ramirez, the Sigma Lambda Beta Educational Foundation is able to continue, “Fueling the Light” by serving the brothers of Sigma Lambda Beta.
