Donors of the Sigma Lambda Beta Education Foundation,

I cannot begin to express my sincerest gratitude and thanks for being named the Spring 2011 recipient of the Opportunity for Wisdom. Throughout my collegiate career, the fraternity has proven to be both a place of emotional support and personal development, and to now receive financial support for my academic transition has truly humbled me. I am in my last semester of my undergraduate work at The University of Texas at Austin finishing degrees in Mexican American Studies and Sociology. I will be attending The Florida State University next year to begin my work on a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration.

My time as a brother of Sigma Lambda Beta has truly changed my life. It has not only allowed me to impact the campus through cultural program development, service for the community, and dissemination of commitment to academic and professional excellence, but most importantly the fraternity has given me a family. Growing up an only child to separated parents, I've experience most things in life on my own without a family structure for support. Now, as a brother of the fraternity I have never felt so connected to a group of men in my life. The past three and a half years have completely diminished the previous nineteen. One of the first things my line brother told me after we were initiated as brothers of the fraternity was: "You're not an only child anymore."

To receive this financial support is truly a blessing as it will help me during a very important and complicated transition from my life in Texas to the beginning of my professional career in Florida.  This scholarship is a clear representation of our organizations commitment to academic excellence, and our continued devotion to the success of our brothers. Thank you again for your support and belief in my development as a man and as a brother.

Fraternally,

#167 Nathan "Sin Limites" Bunch
